Newbie Tips, Part 2

Hey Noobs!  This week's installment has to do with shaving off time off your laps.  Like my previous post, I will re-iterate that time is not shaved off by sheer motor power or speed, but rather smoothness in your driving.  Once your driving throttle and steering are smooth (you're not jerking the wheel), you can now focus on your line

PN Limited Slip Spur Test

Received mine on Thursday and had been using it since Saturday. Installation is the same as the v1 64 pitch spur and the requirements are also the same (shaved hub) but the v2 only goes one way.

I'm only using 5 balls since I'm only running stock or semi-stock class for my 2wd cars.

Newbie Tips, Part 1

Hey fellow Mini-Z enthusiasts!  This is the first part of a new blog series that I'm starting for all the newbies (noobs) out there.  I'm not the fastest racer out there, nor am I the most technical -- but I've moved up from absolute beginner to taking first in the B main's in about a months time!  It may be a little luck, but its a lot of practice too.  Here I will post what I have learned through both personal experience, and through the teachings of the expert racers here at Fast Pace Racing.

MR03 First Impression (race tested)

I finally have my MR03 that I have been waiting for. Actually I was a bit skeptical of opening the box just because of the stories I've been hearing about the "glitch" problem. I've had this box since Thursday night but did not open it until Saturday. I just don't want to have to suffer from "AM" desease if you know what I mean? :)

MR02 vs MR03 (11.20.09)

First of all, I would like everyone to know that this is just from my experience testing both cars. Since the major changes from MR02 to MR03 are the chassis, electronics and frontend suspension, we will put our focus on that.

The MR02 has a wider chassis which makes the car a bit sluggish infield. Think about having an Audi DTM body vs '07 NSX with the same wheel offset. The Audi being narrower is quicker infield while the NSX tends to come in and out the infield slightly slower. Same goes for the new designed chassis of a MR03. It being narrow makes it a bit quicker/nimble infield vs our reliable MR02.
